Ett foto jag aldrig tidigare sett. Från 1985 då han adlades. Frun till höger och dottern till vänster. Hon dog 1997 och sedan dess lever han ensam i huset i Richmond:
‘There isn’t a square inch of home that isn’t bound up in my memory of Jane in one way or another. I’m off travelling a great deal of the time, but I always want to come back there. I would never want to leave it or go and live in some impersonal flat and try to forget the whole thing. That would be the worst thing for me.’
